History
Max mara was founded in 1927 by Achilles Maramotti in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Achilles Maramotti started designing couture clothing, before establishing Max Mara house in 1951. Initially Max mara specialized in the men's fashion, ever since then it has shifted its focus by specializing in women's wear. The company is now run by Maramotti son Luigi Maramotti.
