Established in Wilmslow, Cheshire in 1920, and known by the name of Humphrey brothers clothing. After 4 years, its name was changed to Umbro, which is a contracted form of its earlier name. In Brazil in 1985, it launched its foremost football boot that was given for production after 2 years. A well-known style in shorts was also introduced by it that got famous in 1980s and 1990s. These were made from nylon and consist of a drawstring waistband that came in various bright colors. So, the shorts were nicknamed as 'Umbros'. These are specifically designed for the purpose of playing football. The increase in the soccer leagues of youngsters in 1980 in the United States, many youths, teens and adults started wearing them like their daily clothing. In 1990s, company shifted its headquarters from Manchester to the periphery of Stockport in Cheadle.
