For those who don't know what Northern Soul is it has been described as a 'rare soul of the type enjoyed in the North of England' in the 70's. The records had to be up tempo 100 bpm in order to get folks dancing. The term Northern Soul has been attributed to the Blues Soul magazine writer Dave Godin from the early 70s he claimed the kids in the North of England were dancing to a different sort of soul to those elsewhere in the UK.
